Description:  One of our clients in Albany, NY is in need of a System Engineer to support Windows Server and Active Directory.  This is a long-term contract opportunity.
 
Duration:  18 months
 
Skills:  Microsoft server, Active directory, Citrix,SAN connectivity,VMware, IIS6/7, Biztalk server, sharepoint.
 
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient with the installation, configuration, and patch management of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Active Directory administration.
  • Proficient in the installation and configuration of Windows Server based application software.
  • Proficient in identification and remediation of server configuration, network, and peripheral issues involving: a) Authentication and authorization; b) Client/server software;  c) Network/local printers; d) SAN connectivity.
  • Proficient with installation and configuration of computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Proficient in the management of Microsoft DNS, DHCP, & WINS services.
  • Proficient with installation and configuration of Citrix Presentation Server and the configuration of published applications.
  • Experience with the creation, configuration, & management of virtual servers running under VMware.
  • Proficient in the configuration of IIS6 & IIS7 in support of .net custom applications and COTS software.
  • Experience in the management of SQL Server 2005 clustering services & patch management.
  • Experience in the management or installation of RSA Security products SecurID or ClearTrust.
  • Proficient in technical writing and developing/documenting administrator standards and procedures.
  • Proficient in end-user support.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience administering or installing Microsoft BizTalk server components.
  • Experience administering or installing XENSERVER and XENDesktop.
  • Experience administering VMware View.
  • Experience installing and configuring Microsoft Sharepoint.
  • Managing VMware 4x or newer host installs: patch management, and clustering.
  • Experience working for a large governmental agency.
