Description: One of our clients in Albany, NY is in need a of a Microsoft Exchange Architect to do the following:
- Participate in the design and implementation of Microsoft Exchange solutions for 100,000+ users in a highly available environment to ensure continuous availability of services
- Develop scripts and configure software to ensure compatibility during the migration of new customers from legacy Exchange, Lotus Notes, and Novell GroupWise systems
- Provide support for ancillary mail-related services, including anti-spam/anti-malware, email archiving and email encryption to protect and preserve agencies* email accounts
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with Microsoft Exchange 2007, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008 and associated services
- Implement, automate, and monitor the run status of Microsoft PowerShell scripts for automating critical tasks, including installation, day-to-day operations, systems monitoring, and upgrades
- Design and coordinate access to Mail services on hand-held devices
- Analyze impact of upgrades on functionality through research and test environments and provides recommendations on findings
- Provide business and off-hours support for mail users with technical problems
- Plan and perform migrations of email customers from both Exchange and non-Exchange systems
- Support and maintain Blackberry Enterprise Server environment
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- More than five years of experience administering Microsoft Exchange in a large scale environment
- More than six years of general IT experience in a work environment
- More than five years of business work experience with Microsoft Exchange
- At least three years of previous experience designing MS Exchange infrastructure
- Associate*s degree in business, MIS, or computer science (computer applications) or equivalent experience
- Microsoft Certification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Two or more years of experience implementing and supporting an email archiving system
- Two or more years of experience with database concepts and SQL commands in MS SQL Server
- Two or more years of experience with level 3 end user technical support for MS Exchange/Outlook
- Two or more years of experience with VMWare
- Two or more years of experience supporting Active Sync devices in a MS Exchange environment
- Two or more years of experience with Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) or System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
- Two or more years of experience with CITRIX
- Two or more years of experience developing and implementing system testing procedures
- Two or more years of experience with IIS Version 6.0
- Two or more years of experience with PowerShell or V8 Scripting
- Two or more years of experience with networking and TCP/IP
- Three or more years of experience with an enterprise grade exchange system of at least 50,000 users
- Five or more years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory
- Two or more years of experience deploying and managing Blackberry Enterprise servers
- Two or more years of experience with migrating to Microsoft Exchange from Lotus Notes and/or Groupwise
- Five or more years of experience with Microsoft Windows Desktop Server Operating Systems
- Two or more years of experience deploying and administering Microsoft Office Communications Server or Live Communications server
