Business Analyst

Mandatory Requirement:
A Bachelor’s or equivalent degree is required
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Seven years of progressive data processing experience in a large-scale Open Systems server environment, IBM mainframe environment or UNISYS mainframe environment with at least five full years of that experience spent functioning as a Business Process Specialist or Business Analyst.  This position requires the individual to have the skill set necessary to review existing operational practices, analyze their effectiveness, recommend procedural changes and manage the implementation of these new work processes.  This position requires an individual with a technical background, strong analytical and communication skills, both written and oral, and strong interpersonal skills.  The incumbent should be self-motivated and able to work independently with high level direction. 
 
Job Requirements:
Illustrative duties include but are not limited to:

• examining the methods and processes of the business flow within a diverse public or private service delivery organization
• assessing and documenting existing business processes and identifying unnecessary steps
• incorporating value-added steps into a new process through the translation of business practices into terminology and desk products that seamlessly merge computer and microcomputer technology with work processes
• assessing and documenting existing business processes and identifying where improvements can be made or where new processes can be installed
• researching "best practices" of comparable organizations and analyzing the feasibility of installing them where needed
• developing new methods and procedures, implementation plans and schedules, and written reports
• Good knowledge of process oriented management philosophy including IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework for introducing standards in the processes we adopt
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to function effectively as part of a team or function as a team leader
